After his brush with death in his previous incarnation, this new, young Doctor is full of life and energy. He is happy to travel the universe and fight monsters, uncover mysteries and put the universe to rights. He's a romantic, but never uses it for his own gain. He is in love with the universe and sees beauty in everything he meets, but beneath this exuberant exterior is a man who is on the run from something...and it's catching up with him...and it may be his downfall.
Holly is an ex-librarian from a town called Huxley. She still lives at home with her parents and younger sister, but aims on moving out of the “chaos” as soon as she can afford to live in her own flat.
As a teenager she was quite adventurous and often found herself getting into scrapes with her friends, and when she attended college she got in with a gang of like-minded individuals.
But now she's left that all behind. She lost her job and is forced to work in a factory...but her life is about to get exciting again...
Lilly is the Doctor's current companion, the pair having met some time ago. Although young, she has an old head on her shoulders and the Doctor often jokes that she is like a grumpy old man. She has a short temper and lets things get to her quicker than they should do. She often doesn't agree with the Doctor's recklessness, but is willing to tag along with him to "keep him happy".
How the two met is a mystery and one which Holly is determined to uncover as this new TARDIS team begins their journey.
